"Inspirational" "Strong" "Sparkling" "Tenacious" "Joyful"
These are the words that come to mind when I think about the 28, third through fifth grade, GOTR participants completing the Reindeer Ramble 5K Saturday, December 13, 2008 in below freezing temperature. These girls accomplished their ultimate goal with smiles on their faces while persevering, hills and all. For those behind the scenes, seeing the girls cross the finish line was almost surreal. Goal accomplished! Lexington has now completed it's first season of
GOTR and joined 164 communities nationwide who have their own chapter of Girls on the Run.
This, of course, was possible due to the dedication of many people. First, thanks to those that made the December 13th race happen:

| A special thank you goes out to the following individuals and corporations. Without their support, GOTR Lexington would not have been possible this year:
We would like to thank St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Cassidy Elementary School
for graciously allowing the use of their schools. Lastly, we would like to thank all of the women who showed up to lend an extra hand during groups especially: Kathy and Maddie Stitchnot, Kathryn Linville, Chloe Ward, Elaina Thompson, and Julie Swim and Jean Ezell.
How exciting to be off to such a strong start, so strong, that we have confirmed four sites for the next season and this week are working on four other sites in Fayette County Public Schools. The group of coaches we have lined up for the next session look amazing. Registration will begin the Saturday, January 10th, the Spring session will start February 9th, and we will sponsor our first GOTR Lexington race on Saturday, May 9th at Coldstream.
Thanks again for all of your interest and support. GOTR Lexington would not be off to such a strong start without people like you. It is so very apparent that this program truly does make a difference! Without a doubt, GOTR is "educating and preparing girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living" all while having fun in the process! Happy New Year and thanks again for your support and interest in
GOTR Lexington.
Sincerely,
Katherine L. Stone GOTR Lexington Board Chair and Coach
